Paul calls for the believers at Ephesus to address one another “in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord in your heart” (Ephesians 5:19). At St. Francis, we draw upon the deep Biblical truths of good historic hymnody, adding the best of contemporary music that is Christ-centered, theologically sound, and musically satisfying.
The adult choir sings at the 10 a.m. blended service. We welcome vocalists and instrumentalists of all kinds to join in enhancing the music.
The St. Cecilia Choir is open to children ages 5 through 12 who can read, and meets on Sundays mornings after the 10 a.m. service, from 11:45 a.m. to noon. The children are introduced to a wide spectrum of church music, including camp songs, Taize chants, spirituals, and traditional hymns and anthems. They are also instructed in music theory and choral technique. As these children learn the music of the church and join in corporate worship, they will be more prepared for a life of faith and service.
